Rett Syndrome Awareness Month
When Sabella was diagnosed with Rett syndrome, our family entered a world we never expected. Like many rare disorders, Rett syndrome brought uncertainty, countless medical appointments, therapies, challenges, and moments that tested our strength. Yet through every obstacle, Sabella has shown us resilience, courage, and joy.
Sabella communicates in ways that go beyond words. Through her smile, determination, and unique personality, she teaches us daily lessons about patience, inclusion, and the importance of seeing every person for who they are, not for their diagnosis.
As we searched for resources, support, and opportunities for meaningful inclusion, we quickly realized that many families raising children with developmental disabilities face similar barriers. We saw the need for greater awareness, stronger community connections, and opportunities where every child could belong.
That realization became the foundation for Bella Smiles for Developmental Disabilities.
What began as a mother's desire to create a more inclusive world for her daughter grew into a mission to support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families through advocacy, education, community engagement, and inclusion.
Sabella remains the inspiration behind every program we create, every family we serve, and every community partnership we build. Her journey reminds us that every child deserves to be seen, valued, and included.

To honor Rett Syndrome Awareness Month, Bella Smiles for Developmental Disabilities invites families to join us for an afternoon of inclusive fun and community connection.
Inclusive Play & Free Winter Jacket Giveaway
📅 October 31, 2026⏰ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM📍 A Place for Me, Tacoma
Families can enjoy inclusive play opportunities in a welcoming environment where children of all abilities can connect, explore, and have fun together.
We will also be giving away free winter jackets for children on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
This event is an opportunity to celebrate inclusion, raise awareness about Rett syndrome, and support families in our community as we prepare for the colder months ahead.
