Internship and Volunteer Program

We offer hands-on training opportunities for interns and volunteers interested in ABA, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy while supporting programs that serve children with developmental disabilities.

Evidence-Based Program

Evidence-based therapies and guided learning help children with developmental disabilities build communication, learning, and life skills.

We provide evidence-based services for children with developmental disabilities, including early screening and diagnosis, speech therapy, occupational therapy, specialized education, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). These services help ensure children receive the right support early and gain access to the healthcare and developmental services they need to thrive.

Assistive Technology

To assist where necessary with assistive technology items to our children who need more assistance in completing their daily living activities in order to provide them with more independence and live a more transformed life.

We provide assistive technology to children who need additional support with daily living activities, helping them gain greater independence and live fuller, more empowered lives.

Awareness Creation

Bella Smiles for DD team members working with community families to raise awareness about developmental disabilities in Uganda.

We work to promote acceptance of children with developmental disabilities, reduce stigma in Ugandan communities, and increase awareness about diagnosis and treatment—helping families access the knowledge, support, and opportunities they deserve.

Empowerment Of Families

Our holistic programs create sustainable income opportunities for families through initiatives like organic diapers, parent-sewn products, herbal oils, and community thrift stores.

Parent-to-parent mentoring strengthens families with knowledge, confidence, and community support.

Parent-Tested Resources for Families Navigating Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD)

Behind every child with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is a family navigating challenges, celebrating victories, and searching for the right support. This section was created with those families in mind—guided by the lived experiences of parents who understand what this journey truly feels like.
